Rhinoplasty Case #2873
Before and 6 months after a revision rhinoplasty. The origininal rhinoplasty was done 6 years earlier by another surgeon. The nasal tip was over projected with a severe hanging columella that allowed you to look into the nose. On the front view, the nose was extremely long with irregular tip cartilages and very wide nostrils. There was a diagonal cartilage and boney ridge going down the bridge. The tip was deprojected and made symmetric and the hanging columella was fixed. The nostrils were narrowed with an alar base reduction. The boney and cartilage ridge was removed. These revisions allowed for a much prettier, more feminine nose in this patient. The tracing on the right is made from the preoperative computer imaging done during the consultation. Dr. Pontell creates this tracing which he uses as a guide during surgery to accomplish the patient’s goals. This allows Dr. Pontell to get as close to the desired result as possible. Please compare the desired profile in the tracing to the actual “after photo.”
