Rhinoplasty Case #2872
This patient had a prior reduction rhinoplasty a number of years before by another surgeon. She was left with a large nose with a bump (dorsal hump) and a hanging columella (drooping piece of skin that separates the nostrils). In the after photo you can see how the bridge and tip were deprojected to make a smaller nose and the collumella was lifted so that you can not see into the nose so much anymore. The diagonal set of photos shows how the severely hanging columella was taken care of.The tracing on the right is made from the preoperative computer imaging done during the consultation. Dr. Pontell creates this tracing which he uses as a guide during surgery to accomplish the patient’s goals. This allows Dr. Pontell to get as close to the desired result as possible. Please compare the desired profile in the tracing to the actual “after photo.”
